SEGA and Namco sign up to EAG Expo

All of the major amusement machine companies are signing up for the new BACTA-sponsored EAG Expo, which will be held at the London ExCel, January 26-28, 2010.

Today, Sega joined Namco in signing up for the show, signalling the switch of big-name companies to the new event. They join Crown Direct, Electrocoin, Harry Levy and MDM as confirmations. The floor plan for the event shows a situation where the floor is half-full. Many of them are declarations of intent, but the organisers are not naming the stand-holders until the booking forms are received.

BACTA President Neil Chinn said: "We are encouraged by the initial response to the show and appreciate the commitment by these companies, not only in booking space, but for the enthusiasm which they have shown to create an event for the industry."

Comments from the exhibitors were:

"The BACTA EAG Expo is the platform we need in London to give some focus on amusement and gaming machines during these difficult trading times. We are looking forward to seeing all our UK and international customers at ExCel in 2010."
Dean Harding, MD, Crown Direct

"We are excited at the prospect of participating in the new show where all of the major British amusement companies will exhibit on one floor, in one arena, in a modern purpose-built venue, that caters superbly for the visitor and exhibitor alike."
Kevin Weir, Electrocoin

"I am delighted that we have our show back. From my point of view the show has to be in London and the show set-up at ExCel will be much improved over this years'. Our show is the biggest and most important to our industry and I'm sure customers will return to support the new show."
Mark Lewis, MDM Leisure

"I can remember going to my very first Exhibition 50 years ago. Was I excited? You bet I was. But over the last few years I've been very disappointed. Well the contract's been signed for EAG Expo and I am getting excited again. This industry deserves to be seen as a major player in the entertainment world, it also deserves to be recognised for helping in the regeneration of the country's sea fronts."
Colin Mallery, Harry Levy

"In years to come the industry will look back at this first EAG show as a defining moment in history. We believe the domestic and international needs of a company such as ours will be met in this new and exciting environment. It will be the international show for amusements, attractions, gaming and ancillary support products. Sega are proud to be part of it."
Justin Burke, Sega Amusements Europe Ltd

Over the last nine years Excel has hosted over 2,000 events and welcomed over four million visitors from 200 different countries.

As well as offering excellent hotels and entertainment facilities ExCel is unique in having its own airport minutes away. London City Airport now receives flight from 35 destinations with more being added every year.
