Sega presented a range of products for the first time at last month's IAAPA, held in Florida, US, including its latest driver piece, Hummer, which even in the current economic climate attracted a lot of attention from visitors. It is available to buy as a single piece, which operators can then add to at later dates with more machines.

Also on show was the amusement giant’s Harley Davidson King of the Road game which, according to the company, has a "great wow" factor and its new twin-driver R-Tuned, which is very strong in Japan.

Commenting on the show and the new products, Justin Burke said: "R-Tuned received a better than expected visitor reaction and it appeals to casual games more than other street racing games.

"There was a strong international presence this year, especially from the UK, Middle East and Russia. Some people said they felt the show was quieter than previous years but I didn’t notice this. I think the companies which focus on the domestic market in the US have probably suffered from the economic climate more than international companies such as ourselves."
