InterGame Expo bookings confirmed
The first booking forms for the InterGame Expo, set for January 27-29, 2009, at the Ibis Hotel, Lillie Road, London, have been returned and the initial list of confirmed exhibitors can be released.
They include jukebox specialist Sound Leisure, pool table manufacturer Excel, broad-based amusement distributor PMT, children's ride, novelty and pusher specialist Whittaker Brothers, redemption games and pusher producer Harry Levy and Spanish children's rides company Falgas.
They are joined by Hazel Grove Superleague, Jaybox the music company, and several more should be confirmed this week.
Sound Leisure managing director Chris Black commented today: "As an event, ATEI is one of the best-known exhibitions in our industry and is one that I have personally enjoyed taking part in for over 20 years. But for the past three years Sound Leisure, along with many other exhibitors, has been upset at the direction which the show has taken.
"We feel that exhibitors - and their customers - have not been at the top of the priority list when the planning has taken place. It is mainly for this reason that we believe that we should withdraw from the ATEI this year. We know that many other respected names, which have comprised the backbone of the British amusement business for many years, feel the same."
The Expo is 200 metres away from Earls Court in a 500-bedroom hotel, which has for years been one of the favourite accommodation venues for show exhibitors. It has room for around 30 exhibitors in an ideal setting, with excellent unloading/loading access.
InterGame's Christine Butterworth commented: "The names released represent only some of those who are committed to the Expo. There are several others who have pencilled in stands but for whom we are awaiting booking forms. The show is effectively two-thirds full inside a month from its launch."
