William Hill launches new iPad app
William Hill has followed its iPhone app with a new betting app for the iPad, offering the same bets and events available on the bookmaker's main website.
Juergen Reutter, director of mobile for William Hill, said: "Mobile betting is booming. Customers have been clamouring for a specific William Hill app for the iPad and this is simply the best betting app available.
“Whether used as a second-screen solution while watching sport at home, or simply while on the move, we're sure it will become a favourite way for many of our customers to bet."
App betting now accounts for around 30 per cent of all William Hill's online wagering and is predicted to reach 50 per cent in the next two years.
The iPhone app, launched in February 2012, has since achieved more than 550,000 downloads. In the build-up to this year’s Grand National, 2,500 bets per minute were placed with William Hill via its mobile platforms.
The UK’s bookmakers will be looking to bounce back from a run of customer-friendly results with next week’s Champions League final.
