Philippines senator Richard Gordon is proposing a new regulatory body for online gambling in the country, leaving PAGCOR to oversee the land-based casino sector.
The Philippine Online Gaming and Regulatory Authority will be better equipped to oversee the industry through the use of new technology, Gordon told a senate hearing on an alleged financial irregularities in the casino industry.
Justice secretary Vitaliano Aguirre added that, as a dedicated online gambling regulator, POGRA would help eliminate “grey areas.”
