Very positive numbers are emerging regarding the levels of wagering in Italy on the group games of the ongoing Euro 2016 finals, writes Gioco News.

The three matches featuring the Italian national team attracted around €16m, reported Italian regulator Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli.

Of the €117.15m wagered on the 36 group games, €72.16m was placed on single bets and €44.99m for multiple bets.

Bets on the Italian national team have totalled €16m to date, with the eye-catching Belgium-Italy clash pulling in €5.38m. The Sweden match topped that with €5.76m while Italy-Northern Ireland attracted bets of €4.9m in Italy.

“It is necessary to point out that the data provided should be regarded as provisional, because it is subject to further verification before consolidation,” said ADM.

Irrespective of any consolidation, wagering volumes at this level for single events is very encouraging for the sports betting sector in Italy.
