Callam Gardner, a 25-year-old from Manchester, claimed victory against Ruddock - who donned goalkeeper gloves for the event - scoring 14 penalties against the football legend in the city centre.

Mobile casino LeoVegas.com organised the tournament to celebrate the launch of LeoVegas Sport.

Gardner, one of 10 finalists, will now win £100 for each penalty scored at Euro 2016, excluding shoot-outs. At the last two major football tournaments, Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, a total of 15 penalties were scored during live play, out of 17 awarded.

Gardner, who lives in Manchester city centre, said: “I just want to say thanks so much to LeoVegas for letting me take part in such a great event and to have had the chance to play against a footballing legend was amazing.

“To have won just made the night event better.”

Ruddock added: “It was great working with LeoVegas on such a fun event but I’ve definitely got a newfound respect for goalkeepers who had to face me running at them!

”I’m looking forward to the Euros and seeing how much Callam wins. He’s a superb player and definitely deserved the win.”
