Deutsche Telekom has launched tipp3.de - an internet-only offer with a focus on soccer that the German telecoms giant calls a “fair, transparent portal for sports betting in Germany.”

Tipp3.de

Tipp3 takes bets exclusively for professional sports, excluding wagers on amateur and youth matches, and also offers markets on other sporting events, such as basketball and Formula 1.

Deutsche Telekom holds majority ownership of Tipp3 operator Deutsche Sportwetten, which in 2014 became one of the first recipients of a German federal online sports betting licence.

"We are betting on the growth market of sports wagers," says Matthias Schmidt-Pfitzner, head of digital media at Deutsche Telekom.

"We are entering the business as a trustworthy online provider – with a maximum focus on security, quality and the customer experience."

Deutsche Telekom’s partner in Deutsche Sportwetten, with a 36 per cent share, is Austrian provider Österreichische Sportwetten. ÖSW is part of the Casinos Austria group and has more than 14 years’ experience in accepting sports bets in Austria having handled more than 140 million sports wagers in that period.
