Online operator bwin.party said the Brazil 2014 tournament had boosted its sport betting division in the three months to June 30.
The company said favourable results including the Netherlands’ 5-1 humbling of the then holders Spain had helped, as had the number of games in the early knockout rounds that went to extra time and penalties.
Wagers placed via mobile devices surged to account for 35 per cent of sports betting revenues, up from 21 per cent last year.
Mobile accounted for 21 per cent of gross gaming revenue, up from nine per cent year on year.
