A statement from the New Jersey DGE said revenue at the state’s land-based casinos dropped by 6.2 per cent to $199.1m year on year, with total gambling revenues down 1.5 per cent. The DGE reported there to be around 250,000 internet gambling accounts in the state at the end of February.

Growth and projected revenues for online gaming revenues while encouraging are still well below governor Chris Christie’s lofty initial prediction of more than $1bn a year.

The Borgata remains the leading online operators with $4.09m in revenue in February, equating to around 40 per cent of the market ahead of Caesars’ properties which posted $3.34m in the same period.
