China hot on heels of Japan
While Japan was once the centre of all things amusement in Asia, China is now fast taking over.
Business in the amusement arcade industry in Japan has slowed right down in more recent years, while the Chinese animation and game market has continued to grow at a fast pace, even with a global recession to contend with.
Over the past few years Chinese companies have worked hard to grow their business, partnering with international suppliers to get their product to market and they are now thought to be looking to Japan for more expansion opportunities.
However, industry experts claim that a takeover of Japan by Chinese manufacturers should not be a concern just yet and while Chinese suppliers may be able to learn from the Japanese on technology, meticulous management and international experience, it will not fully guarantee success and sales.
The Chinese manufacturers looking to make this move and partner with/acquire Japanese suppliers also need to be aware of and pay better attention to customers' needs, while working on their brand’s reputation, as according to industry experts, competition is becoming fiercer at an international level and production scales are shrinking as more markets mature.
However, as one of the largest amusement and gaming markets in the world, Chinese manufacturers are currently in the best position possible to build up their reputations and brands.
