Zero Latency, a location-based VR company, is opening a 400sq.m VR gaming arena capable of running two eight-player games simultaneously, in Brisbane, Australia slated for October this year.

Zero Latency to expand in Australia

The operator’s arenas have no internal physical walls or obstacles which allowing teams to roam freely, explore and fight together through different virtual terrains, the company said.

CEO Tim Ruse said: “Zero Latency experienced unprecedented success with the world’s first ever epic-scale, multi-player, free-roam VR game arena, which we opened in Melbourne back in 2015 to six-week long waiting lists.

“Since then we have partnered up with venue operators and delivered our patent-pending technology to power successful VR arenas across the globe. Brisbane stood out high and clear as a great city for the next Zero Latency arena with its young and tech-minded population.”

Chief technology officer Scott Vandonkelaar said: “When two eight-player games are underway at the same time, Zero Latency’s proprietary technology will be simultaneously tracking 16 players in real time.

“Players work together to battle hordes of brain-hungry undead in Zombie Survival, are whisked to an enchanting and gravity-defying realm in Engineerium, or unravel an action-packed deep space mystery in Singularity.
