The new general director for gambling regulation in Spain is Juan Espinosa Garcia, who replaces Carlos Hernandez Rivera.

New Spanish gambling chief

Espinosa was previously the deputy general director. The 40-year-old studied in Granada, Edinburgh and London and was previously deputy director of international affairs at the Ministry of Science and Technology.

In 2008 he was appointed deputy director for the relationship with the public administrations (the Spanish regions) at the National Committee for Competence.

He has been deputy general director for gambling regulation for the past two years.
