Belgium-based crane expert Elaut is suing American supplier S&B Candy and Toy and the St Louis Game Company in the US for patent infringement.
The suit has been filed by Elaut and its US subsidiary Elaut USA Inc in the US District Court of New Jersey. The suit also charges Tommy Bear Company, a game manufacturer based in Taiwan.
The case surrounds the similarity of the LEDs in the new Tommy Bear cranes to those in the Elaut US patent, which St Louis Game Company was having built in Taiwan by Tommy Bear.
The case arose in September 2014 and S&B ceased production with Tommy Bear pending discussions between the parties. Those talks have been unresolved.
