The developer of Studio City, a major cinema-themed destination resort in Macau, has confirmed it is on track to open on October 27 and will boast a 40,000sq.ft family entertainment centre.

Gaming operator Melco Crown Entertainment is the name behind the US$3.2bn project.

The location’s indoor FEC, named Warner Bros. Fun Zone, is to include rides, and interactive zones themed around characters from Warner Bros.’ DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera Productions and Looney Tunes entertainment franchises.

It will also boast the world’s first flight simulator ride based on the Batman franchise, Batman Dark Flight.

Between Studio City’s Art Deco-inspired twin hotel towers will be Golden Reel, the world’s highest figure-eight Ferris wheel standing at 130m.
