Czech gaming group Synot has been selected as a supplier to the new Greek video lottery terminal market.

Synot VLT

Following its successful participation in the tender process for the new VLT supply contracts, Synot will provide a number of the gaming devices that will be operated by the Greek state lottery, OPAP.

Synot’s decades of experience in the lottery industry in numerous countries was one of the reasons it was chosen to deliver VLTs to OPAP, said Ivo Valenta, chairman of the board at WCV World Capital Ventures Cyprus.

“Just like in other places where we currently operate, we are also planning another investment in Greece – especially IT technology, telecommunication services and so on,” Valenta said

The decision to introduce VLTs in Greece is expected to go some way to addressing the problem of illegal gambling machines in the country, which are believed to number in excess of 100,000.
