Cashpoint, has been chosen as one of 20 companies to receive a concession for sports betting in Germany from September 19 onwards.

Over two years since the adoption of the new Interstate Gambling Treaty, the Ministry of Interior and Sport of the state of Hesse completed the selection process. It is the first step in the allocation procedure of new E-15 licences that will enable private companies to offer sports betting. Up until 2012, this was the responsibility of the state alone.

Cashpoint, a Gauselmann Group company, achieved the highest score in the points-based assessment.

“With this we have been clearly certified that we are the most reliable, most secure and most capable company among the applicants – and that in all aspects,” said Paul Gauselmann.

Cashpoint, together with Maxcat Vertriebs, developed a joint venture at the beginning of the year that operates under the brand X-Tip. Its portfolio includes a franchise system for betting shops, betting offices and shop-in-shop systems.

The two collaborating partners opened two new betting shops in Schleswig-Holstein ahead of the start of the new football season in August.
