UK-based entertainment company Virtual View Productions is to bring its virtual reality concept to the Middle East in partnership with Aurora Gaming and Magic Planet, a subsidiary of Majid Al Futtaim.

Beginning in the first quarter of 2015, Aurora Gaming is to launch Virtual Reality lounges in key locations in Dubai, before taking the concept elsewhere in the region. As part of the deal, Virtual View Productions will place exclusive filmed and game content at those locations. The first phase of content will be the games Spirit City and Gulls At Dawn.

“This new partnership with Aurora Gaming and Magic Planet opens up exciting new opportunities for our content and to expand the potential of VR entertainment into the Middle East market,” said VVP creative director Stuart Gallop.

Owain Evans, founder of Aurora Gaming, said his company’s goal is to “change the landscape” of gaming across the Middle East with the deployment of virtual reality technologies and content.

“We believe Virtual View Productions can bring this new content to the VR-hungry masses,” he added.
