In the UK, Playnation has helped Verdant Leisure, the holiday park operator, boost its family entertainment centre sales by more than 65 per cent.

The sales increase comes less than a year after Playnation secured a long-term contract to supply Verdant Leisure with an extensive range of machines for its on-site family entertainment centres. The holiday park operator has four sites across Scotland and Northumberland, including Viewfield Manor, Riverside, Thurston Manor and Pease Bay.

“We worked with the team at Verdant to gain an understanding into the different park locations and the demands from customers within each environment,” said Paul McGhee, operations manager at Playnation. “This enabled us to tailor our machines to the consumer and enhance the overall experience for families visiting the parks. We’re really pleased with Verdant’s success to date and this ties in well with our key focus in the family entertainment sector.”

Bev Dixon, operations director at Verdant Leisure, said the company was “delighted” with the latest sales figures, stating that it was “clear” that the new machines have had a direct impact on the growth of its arcade business.

“This puts us in a strong position in the family entertainment arena and we expect 2014 to be another solid year.”

Playnation was established in 2013 following an MBO backed by Palatine Private Equity. The company currently operates machines in over 1,200 locations.
