Italian casino equipment specialist Abbiati reported a lot of interest from casinos looking to upgrade their VIP rooms at this year's G2E Asia.

“Our products are ideally suited to that type of environment,” the company’s Terry Clarke told InterGaming. He added that the joint venture with RGB had now come to an end. “We are still working with them, but not exclusively. We decided it was time we had our own identity in the region.”

That meant that the company had its own stand at the show for the first time, sharing it with German CCTV company Dallmeier. “It was a good set-up because it enabled Dallmeier to show their cameras on our tables,” said Clarke.

Abbiati was showing three tables, a roulette wheel and its RFID products. “Our poker table has attracted a lot of interest,” said Clarke. “Also, we have seen a wide range of visitors including a few from Europe, particularly customers from Portugal and Austria.”

Clarke believes that there is a lot more co-operation between suppliers these days than used to be the case. “We are not treating each other like the enemy any more, instead looking for ways in which we can work together, which can be very beneficial for all parties.”
