Dealers at Bally's casino and dealers and slot technicians at Caesars casino have voted to take strike action in light of a contract dispute with management.

Workers at Caesars voted to form a union with the United Auto Workers in March 2007 and were followed in June by dealers at Bally’s and in August by Caesars slot technicians.

"Nobody wants a strike but we’re going to stand up to enforce our rights," said Ed Hendricks, a Caesars slot technician. "We have negotiated for almost two years, but instead of reaching an agreement the company keeps cutting back."

Local reports indicate that the two casinos are planning to hire new staff if their existing employees do choose to go on strike.
