After the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and the ensuing postponement of the international gaming show ELA 2009, the new show dates of July 23-24 are so far unchanged.

If the show is held, Novomatic will definitely be there and, with its subsidiaries Austrian Gaming Industries and Astra Games, will celebrate its premiere at this young Mexican gaming show.

Mexico has become an important gaming market with considerable growth potential. In the weeks and months to come the market is expected to move further towards a regulated business environment for the local and international gaming industry.

Throughout 2008 the various bills and regulations necessary to create a truly international standard gaming environment have been advanced in order to create a stable gaming jurisdiction for consumers as well as business operators and investors.

Jens Halle, managing director of AGI, said: “The recent market development in Mexico is extremely interesting and adds yet another dynamic to the gaming hotspot that is the Latin American region. We firmly believe that the new product development that will be shown for the first time at ELA will prove attractive and exciting to Mexican operators and guests alike.

“The further development of Class III, international standard gaming in Mexico - under the appropriate regulation and technical standards - is also to be welcomed and we look forward to making AGI a significant force in this market sector also.”
