Bingotimes Technology of Taiwan started life as a manufacturer of bingo equipment, but a glance at the company's G2E Asia booth in Macau last week revealed a firm that has entered the gaming industry with some intriguing products.
These include an automated sic bo game that uses a robot arm to deliver the dice. The arm is also used for card games, where it shuffles and deals.
“We now make a lot of equipment designed for casinos,” said the company’s board manager, Wesley Chang. The firm has more than 20 software designers already and that figure is set to grow. “We now have five different gambling machines in our portfolio and will soon be adding more,” said Chang.
Bingotimes does business on a global basis, but mainly in south-east Asia and South America. “Our business is particularly good in Cambodia and Malaysia at the moment,” added Chang. “We are also getting into Macau and the US later this year.”
Next year the company will be exhibiting at the IGE show in London for the first time. It was founded in 1992 and now has over 100 employees.
“Even in this recession we are still growing and are still optimistic,” said Chang. “We want to invest more. We have new products in the pipeline and we are simplifying the robot arm and making it smaller.”
