The Las Palmas casino is moving out of the Hotel Santa Catalina to a new location in the port.

The move is to take advantage of lower costs in face of a major decline in the number of customers - as much as 80% in recent months. It was forced, during that period, to close its restaurant, the high-class Doramas and reduce its staff by 17. Three sites in the port are under consideration and the move should be completed within six months. The casino, which has eight live tables, has just over 100 remaining staff.
