Annie Jones has been appointed as chairperson of the Shingle Springs Tribal Gaming Authority and will oversee the development and operation of Red Hawk Casino, California, US.
Nicholas H Fonseca, tribal chairman of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, said the organisation is "extremely pleased" to welcome Jones to her new role.
"A member of our tribe, Annie has been active in tribal government programmes for many years, having previously served as board chairperson for the Shingle Springs Tribal Health Program and as a member of our tribal council," he remarked.
