Casino operator NagaCorp is no longer seeking a casino licence in Cyprus, reports Asia Gaming Brief.

Nagacorp drops Cyprus bid

In a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange, Nagacorp said: “After careful review and given all the latest information available to us, the board of directors of the company wishes to inform that the company will not be participating in the RFP and the decision made is in the best interest of our shareholders and the company.”

In March, Nagacorp was announced as one of three shortlisted bidders for the casino resort licence, alongside Bloomberry Resorts and Melco’s Hard Rock Resort Cyprus Consortium.

The final licence is expected to be awarded at the end of the year, with the winning project expected to open in 2019.
