Las Vegas Sands and Madison Square Garden are planning to develop a 16,000-seat theatre on the Las Vegas Strip.

The arena will be developed on land owned by LVS and leased to Madison Square Garden under a 50-year agreement. LVS will also provide $75m to the project to pay for the construction of a pedestrian bridge that will link the concert venue to the Venetian, Palazzo and Sands Expo Convention Centre.

This comes as MGM Resorts opened its 20,000-seat arena with AEG behind its New York-New York casino on the Strip last month.
