UK-based security solutions firm IndigoVision has announced that the US$1bn M Resort, Spa and Casino has chosen its complete IP video solution.

The Las Vegas casino is owned by Anthony A Marnell III and is set to open its doors in March next year. IndigoVision has also been selected to install a digital CCTV system for the Colorado Belle in Laughlin, Nevada, which is owned by Marnell Sher Gaming.

More than 900 cameras in both venues are to be installed or upgraded by IndigoVision’s partner, Southwest Surveillance Systems.

"We were particularly impressed with the video quality provided by the IndigoVision system and the efficient use of network bandwidth and storage," commented Bill Houtchens, vice president of security and surveillance at M Resort.

"Choosing IndigoVision was not just about first-rate technology, it was also a low-risk decision as the company already has a large installed base of working and proven digital CCTV systems in casinos."

According to IndigoVision, IP video provides a number of benefits compared with analogue CCTV systems, such as scalability, real-time camera-based analytics and fault tolerant configurations.
