TCS John Huxley’s Gaming Floor Live marks a major step forward for the land-based casino industry – and heralds the impact of the company’s York-based development team

CASINO operators worldwide have historically based table game performance on limited information coming from the pit operations, as much of the assessment had to be based upon assumptions made from limited input from a myriad of products.

When a large Macau operator looked at the first reports from its Gaming Floor Live system, the dedicated systems team at the casino had to review all of its previous figures.

Gaming Floor Live is the first open system for table gaming on the casino floor… And one with an ability to link up all of the live gaming elements at the same time, irrespective of supplier.

TCS John Huxley knew what it had and knew what it was capable of doing and for once the PR writers’ use of “exciting” as an adjective was woefully inadequate. Tracy Cohen, who handles marketing for the company, explains: “Gaming Floor Live has so many facets and so many advantages that it is a challenge to decide where to begin.”

That is perhaps why the Macau operators are standing in line, following the initial installations in Macau. Nick French, development director at TCSJH, said: “This was not an opportunity to begin with a small system for a small casino and develop it from there; we are working in partnership with a major operation and knew if we got it right here, it could be rolled out worldwide.”

Now the Macau casino can see what every baccarat table, every display and every card shoe on the casino floor is doing; how many players are at the tables; how quickly the games are being played and the performance of each dealer; pit bosses – and their bosses – can see at a glance the performance at any of their casinos, anywhere in the world and in the blink of an eye.
